College Advising

Having applied to three degree programs (BA, MA, and PhD) and achieving success at each turn, I have become familiar with the prep work necessary to create an effective application. My college advising service primarily consists of matching students with colleges and universities and helping them find their voice so they can write compelling personal statements and essays. I work exclusively with high school juniors and rising seniors.

My approach:

My service operates on a pay-as-you-wish model. A college education is one of the best investments students can make towards their future. Yet, the admissions process is convoluted and difficult for any student or parent to navigate. While I will gladly accept voluntary donation, I do not expect compensation from students or their families.

Instead of using rankings like the US News & World Report that use arbitrary factors to determine a university’s quality, I will prioritize helping students identify schools that have strong academic and cultural fits.

I challenge the prevailing notion that a college education is solely a training ground to prepare graduates for employment. As a liberal arts degree holder and a staunch champion of it, I aim to promote schools with robust curriculums that prioritize undergraduate teaching and students’ intellectual development.
